The bark fibers create tannin for curing leather, along with making rope and cloth. Pollen from the flowers can be used to make glue. The pulp from the seeds is used to make paper or foods like jam, juice, and even beer. Medicinally, the fruits, seeds, leaves, and pulp are used to treat a range of ailments from fevers to asthma to toothaches and even malaria.
