Moringa Oil - from the “Miracle Tree”

Moringa Oil is extracted from the seeds of the Moringa Oleifera tree. This tree is indigenous to the Himalayas but now thrives in subtropical areas like Africa where it can withstand extreme conditions and even prolonged drought. Often referred to as “The Miracle Tree,” this tree plays a critical role in the nutrition of local populations as well as in traditional medicine.

About Moringa Oil

Moringa Oil has high amounts of behenic saturated fatty acid with conditioning properties that keep skin smooth and hair soft. Oleic and omega-9 fatty acids make moringa oil an excellent moisturizer, able to penetrate the skin’s natural barrier, restore hydration, and balance composition without clogging pores and leaving skin greasy.

Anti-inflammatory agents like tocopherols help fight and treat acne breakouts and blackheads. Roughly 1,700 antioxidants improve cell turnover and increase Moringa oil’s anti-aging properties.

The seeds can generate a significant amount of oil that contain high-quality oleic fatty acid. Moringa oil, also known as “Ben oil” or “Behen oil,” is packed with vitamins A, C, and E. It is said that it contains 4x more vitamin A than carrots, 7x more vitamin C than oranges, more potassium than bananas, more iron than spinach, as much protein as eggs, and more calcium and protein than milk.

Other extraordinary uses

All parts of the moringa tree, including the leaves, seeds, roots and flowers are suitable for human and animal consumption.

The leaves are rich in protein, minerals, β-carotene and antioxidants making them ideal for nutrition and medicine.

This oil also has non-food applications like biodiesel, cosmetics, and as a lubricant for machinery. After extracting the oil, the seed cake can be used in water treatment as a natural coagulant or as an organic fertilizer.
